Journey Overview

This five-day trip brings together two of Southern Africa's most remarkable places, Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park, without the rushed feeling of a typical tour. We give both destinations the time they actually need so you can slow down and take them in. You will stand at the edge of the spray with a private guide, enjoy a dinner of local flavors, and then spend two full days among Chobe's famous elephant herds, exploring both by open safari vehicle and by boat on the river. Because we are based right here in Victoria Falls, we handle every transfer and border crossing personally. Our team is with you at every step to make the transition between Zimbabwe and Botswana completely straightforward, with no logistics or paperwork for you to worry about. It is designed to feel like one continuous, well-planned journey rather than two separate trips.

Victoria Falls & Zambezi River

Welcome to Zimbabwe. The moment you step into the arrivals hall at Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA), you will see us waiting for you with a signboard. We will take your bags, get you settled into your private, air-conditioned vehicle, and handle all the airport logistics so you can just relax. From there, it is an easy 25-minute drive to your lodge. Keep an eye on the treeline along the way, as we often spot our first elephants before we even reach town.

After the long journey to Victoria Falls, Batonka Guest Lodge is a wonderfully soft landing. Tucked away in a quiet residential suburb, it feels peaceful and private, a world away from the busy town center. This afternoon is entirely yours to wash off the travel dust. Grab a cold drink, find a quiet spot in the leafy gardens, or sit by the pool and start easing into the rhythm of Africa before sunset.

Days 1 – 2

Victoria Falls & Zambezi River

In the late afternoon, we'll pick you up and head down to the river. You'll board a small boat to head out onto the quiet channels of the upper Zambezi. It is a slow, peaceful couple of hours. We'll keep your glass filled and some light snacks on hand while you look out for hippos nudging the water's surface or elephants coming down to the banks for a late drink. As the sun drops, the sky turns a deep, dusty orange over the water, a perfect, quiet introduction to Africa.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

We highly recommend travelling in May–October (dry season) for peak Chobe wildlife and the heaviest spray at the Falls; November–April for lush scenery, dramatic skies, and prolific birdlife when the wildlife and weather conditions are optimal.
Yes! All our safaris are 100% customizable. You can adjust the lodging tier, add or remove days, or swap specific activities.
The peak season is during the dry winter months (May to October). This is when wildlife viewing in Chobe is at its best as animals congregate around the river, and the Falls are powerful. The 'Green Season' (November to April) offers lush landscapes, fewer crowds, and excellent birdwatching, though some activities can be weather-dependent.
The core activities, like the Falls tour and safari drives, are low-impact. The 'Moderate' rating comes from the optional adrenaline activities on Day 2, which are entirely your choice. The trip can be as relaxed or as adventurous as you wish.
This depends on your nationality. We highly recommend the KAZA UniVisa, which typically allows entry into both Zimbabwe and Zambia multiple times and covers day trips to Botswana. We will assist with all border formalities to ensure a smooth crossing.
Navigating the border is straightforward with our help. Most guests arrive on a standard single-entry visa for Zimbabwe. Because this itinerary includes an overnight stay in Botswana, you will need a second single-entry visa to re-enter Zimbabwe for your departure flight. We handle all the transfer logistics and will guide you through the quick, simple formalities at the border. The cost is typically $30-$50 USD per person, depending on your nationality.
Absolutely. This itinerary serves as a template. We can upgrade accommodations, add or remove days, or swap activities to perfectly match your interests and pace. Just let us know what you have in mind.
